Terms of Service

Effective date: October 26, 2026

1. Operator and service

griotold (the “operator”) provides the vidolet Chrome extension and its help website. vidolet detects supported web videos, prepares downloadable files and helps you save them to a location you choose. Downloads are available through the vidolet extension installed in Chrome and its connected web app.

Contact: support@vidolet.com

2. Free use

vidolet is free to use without an account. Internet charges, device storage and any costs of accessing the original service are separate.

3. Download rights and your responsibilities

Use vidolet only for content you own or have permission to download and use. You are responsible for checking the original provider's terms and applicable copyright and privacy rules.

Detecting a video or being technically able to save it does not mean you have permission to use it. vidolet does not grant rights to content. You must separately check whether redistribution, publication or commercial use of a downloaded file is permitted.

You must not use vidolet to infringe others' rights or bypass access restrictions or content protection.

4. Supported content and requirements

Supported content includes direct MP4 and M4A files and supported HLS video on demand. Depending on the input, HLS can be prepared as MP4 or MKV. YouTube, DRM-protected videos, SAMPLE-AES, DASH and live streams are not supported.

Downloads may fail because of site changes, expired links, network conditions, browser versions or available storage. We do not guarantee operation on every site or video, or a particular speed. vidolet does not increase quality beyond the source video.

5. Your files and privacy

Closing or reloading a job screen during preparation may require starting again. Export files you want to keep using the save function, then check playback and file contents. Temporary preparation files are not a backup.

You manage saved files on your own device. For details about how information is processed, stored and deleted, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Software and external services

The vidolet name, design, software and included third-party libraries are subject to their respective rights. Open-source components are governed by their own licenses.

Original video sites, Chrome and the Chrome Web Store are operated by their respective providers. Unless expressly stated, vidolet is not affiliated with the original video service.

7. Service changes and ending use

Features may change or be discontinued for compatibility, security or operational reasons. Where possible, we will provide advance notice of changes that significantly affect use.

You can stop using vidolet at any time by disabling or removing the extension. This does not delete video files you have already exported.

8. Contact and disputes

If you have a problem using the service, contact support@vidolet.com. The operator will review the information provided and work toward a resolution.

These terms do not exclude user rights or operator responsibilities guaranteed by applicable law.
