Save supported Vimeo videos with vidolet in Chrome.
At a glance
Open the Vimeo video, start playback, then choose it in vidolet. Keep the download tab open until preparation finishes and save the file.

Install vidolet for ChromeHow to save
Open the Vimeo video page and start playback.
Choose a video and quality
Click the vidolet toolbar icon, choose a detected video and an available quality, then click Download.
Wait until the file is ready
Keep the download tab open. When the status is Ready to save, click Save and choose a file name and location.
To save several ready videos, use Save ready videos and choose a folder once. The files are saved one by one.
If the video is missing or preparation fails
If several entries appear, select the video with the quality you want. An audio-only entry is not the complete video.
Reload the original video page, start playback and select the video again in vidolet. Keep any required access to the original page.
Support and limits
We verified a public Vimeo HLS video at 272p, saved it as MP4 and checked the complete video and audio. Other qualities and restricted videos were not verified.
Available quality comes from the source video. vidolet does not upscale it.
Only save videos you own or have permission to download. DRM-protected videos, live streams and DASH are not supported.

Questions about this site
Is 272p the maximum Vimeo quality?
No. 272p is the sample we tested, not a quality limit. Choose from the qualities vidolet detects for that video. Higher qualities on Vimeo have not yet been verified end to end.
Can I save private or embedded Vimeo videos?
Our test covered a public Vimeo video. Password-protected, account-restricted and embedded Vimeo videos have not been verified. Being able to watch a video does not guarantee that vidolet can save it.
Why do I need to wait before saving?
For supported HLS videos, vidolet prepares the file first. Save becomes available when preparation is complete. Keep the download tab open; closing or reloading it can discard the prepared file.
Are subtitles included?
vidolet does not currently offer separate subtitle downloads or add subtitle tracks to the saved video. Subtitle support is not part of this guide.
